Cultural Celebrations
For this exhibition we ask artists to submit work that showcase either their personal cultural celebrations, or celebrations that they have had the opportunity to witness. Open to all current California Art Club members of the following chapters; Kern County, Malibu/Ventura, Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, Palm Springs Desert, San Gabriel/Pomona Valley, and the Inland Empire. Autumn Splendor
Autumn represents courage and the preservation of life. The works submitted could depict wildlife preparing for the winter, to farmers working on their fall harvest, to still lifes representing favorite symbols of fall, to gorgeous red, green and brown landscapes covered in leaves, to windblown seascapes. Lazy Days of Summer
Summer is the hottest season of the year, and the temp can stay warm even after the sun goes down. The works submitted could range from depicting beachgoers lounging in the sand, to inviting sunny landscapes, to nocturnal seascapes aglow with bioluminescence, to figures finding respite in shaded parks, to gardens overflowing with fresh vegetables and fruit. Spring Awakening
Spring is all about new beginnings and transformations. The works submitted could depict anything from blooms of California wildflowers, to rainy landscapes, to signs of new life (human or wildlife) or even the return of butterflies and bees. Sculptures could showcase anything from wildlife, to Persephone’s return for spring, or anything symbolizing starting over and starting fresh. Read more
