We are pleased to announce that the 112th Annual Gold Medal Exhibition will be held again at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. The exhibition dates are Sunday, July 9 to Sunday, September 10, 2023, with the Exhibition Preview and Artists’ Gala on Saturday, July 8.

Since its 1909 inception, the California Art Club has been dedicated to promoting and preserving contemporary-traditional fine art through championing painting and sculpture that features representational subjects while utilizing classical skills. The annual Gold Medal Exhibition is the most vital platform for demonstrating the best of the realist genre. With an awareness of both the California Art Club's mission and the high quality expectations of this exhibition, CAC artists are encouraged to submit artwork that best exemplifies their talents.

You may submit up to two “standard-size” works and one miniature for consideration, keeping in mind the California Art Club’s mission, which is to promote the best examples of traditional fine art while showcasing what makes your work unique.

Note: Sculptors must submit three digital images of various angles of each entry.

For the miniatures display, we are encouraging artwork with an emphasis on the land and lifestyle of California. All work submitted will be considered.

The exhibition will be roughly comprised of 170 paintings and 30 sculptures. Please note that the Bowers Museum is family oriented and partners with local K-12 schools. As such, we ask that artwork submitted be family friendly, this is a criterion that the jury will give serious consideration.

Please note that all artwork submitted prior to February 1, 2023 will be considered for early acceptance and promotional use.
