We ask artists to represent Lazy Days of Summer via contemporary-traditional methods. Any genre of work will be eligible for consideration. The guest judge for this competition is Amy Scott, PhD – Vice President of Research and Interpretation at the Autry Museum.

Summer is the hottest season of the year, and the temp can stay warm even after the sun goes down. This undoubtedly brings on the Lazy Days of Summer.

Works submitted could range from depicting beach-goers lounging in the sand, to inviting sunny landscapes, to nocturnal seascapes aglow with bio-luminescence, to figures finding respite in shaded parks, to gardens overflowing with fresh vegetables and fruit. Sculptures could showcase beach-goers clad in this swimsuits, to melting ice cream or even wildlife lazying about in sun.

We kindly request that artists submit works created in the last two years. All artwork must be available for acquisition.
