The mission of this competition is to encourage artists to develop and refine their classical art skills and spotlight their mastery by providing a new platform for showcasing contemporary-traditional works of art.

We ask artists to represent Wonders of Winter via contemporary-traditional methods.  Any genre of work will be eligible for consideration.  Submissions can depict anything from figures skiing, to ballerinas dancing the Nutcracker, to nocturnal scenes showcasing a dazzling display of holiday lights and decorations, to snow dusted trees or snowcapped mountains, to migrating birds, or even allegorical works exploring the mythological story of the winter season.

The guest judge for this competition will be Micah Christensen, PhD. renowned art historian and curator.

Submission deadline is Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 11:59 pm.

Finalists will be announced on or around Monday, November 27, 2023 .

The exhibition will be made live on the California Art Club’s virtual gallery from December 11, 2023 to March 19, 2024. Winners will be announced on opening day.

Artwork will be available for acquisition.
