The CAC is excited to host Matt Smith for a second Master Artist
Workshop. Smith last worked with the CAC in 2014, and the sold out class was a great success.

This intense three day class will utilize information gathered while in the field to complete more involved studio paintings. Primary focus will be placed on the fundamentals and how they relate to our chosen subject. Fundamentals include: drawing, value, design, color, organic vs. structured form, and how natural light influences the landscape. This will not only help us to better construct paintings but also open our eyes and minds to see artistically as opposed to functionally. This is the info all painters need before they venture into the field. Expect daily demos and personal attention.

NOTE: All students will be expected to bring field references with them: plein air paintings, drawings, written notes, or photographs.
