San Luis Rey Mission Art Festival Paint/Sculpt-Out
Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
FreeVenue Info:
The San Luis Rey Mission in Oceanside is celebrating their 225th year! As part of the festivities, an Art Festival has been planned and our members have been invited to paint or sculpt on the grounds of the mission from 10am – 2pm. There will be many other artists and vendors to celebrate the anniversary. The three main themes for the festival and the art are Mission, Religious, and Native American. For those interested in submitting their paintings created that day, there will be judged awards and prizes. Any paintings created on the grounds the day of the Festival can be available for sale and even left at the Mission to be for sale on consignment in the Gift Shop.
Additional Information on Painting Locations:
There will be no limitations on the number of artists in the public areas such as the front of the Mission and the Lavanderia. The Mission is opening some of their spaces that are private and usually unavailable to painters for this event, but space in these places is limited.
