4 – 6:30 pm – Collectors’ Circle Event

Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m.

Collectors’ Circle members are invited to enjoy a relaxing afternoon open house visiting the unique private art collection of Mr. Reitzell, featuring the artwork of his great-grandfather and early California artist, Jean Mannheim in their Westlake Village home. Mannheim settled in the Arroyo Seco in 1908, and became a major player in the early Southern California art scene, a California Art Club founding member, a well-respected teacher, and a popular portrait artist who painted such notable subjects as King Gillette, Albert Einstein, and John Burroughs. Like many of his peers, he succumbed to the beauty of his surroundings and was also known for his landscapes of the plentiful local scenery providing wonderful examples of the California Impressionist art movement as well as lasting reminders of an unspoiled landscape that lured so many to the Golden State. Over sixty of his paintings are on display, representing over forty years of his career.

Space is limited for this very special À la Art evening.

RSVP to:
Claudia Sandoval, Director of Donor Relations, at (626) 583-9009 or by email. Please include the names of your guests. Collectors’ Circle members are encouraged to invite prospective members to this special evening.
