The mission of this competition is to encourage artists to develop and refine their classical art skills and spotlight their mastery by providing a new platform for showcasing contemporary-traditional works of art.

We ask artists to represent Autumn Splendor via contemporary-traditional methods. Any genre of work will be eligible for consideration. Submissions can depict anything, from wildlife preparing for the winter, to farmers working on their fall harvest.

The guest judge for this competition will be Erin M. Curtis PhD, Historian and Curator at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art.

Submission deadline is Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 11:59 pm.

Finalists will be announced on or around Monday, August 10, 2023 .

The exhibition will be made live on the California Art Club’s virtual gallery from September 26, 2023 to December 11, 2023. Winners will be announced on opening day.

Artwork will be available for acquisition.
