Sacramento Chapter Paint/Sculpt-Out – Nevada City
Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Join the Sacramento Chapter in Nevada City to experience the fall colors. In addition to the fall colors, subjects to paint include buildings and homes from the 1800’s.
The group will meet at a small parking lot just north of the corner of Broad Street and Nevada Street, across the street from Lefty’s Grill, where we will have dinner at day’s end. Local CAC members will be available to orient folks new to Nevada City, but visitors are encouraged to come early and drive around both the downtown area and the surrounding area east and north of town to discover a number of very picturesque sites for painting. The South Pine Café on Pine St. opens a wonderful brunch at 8:00 AM.
Please be prepared to bring plenty of water and snacks, to support your painting, or visit any of the many great local establishments as required. Local authorities have indicated that painters may set up their easels on the wide, downtown sidewalks as long as they don’t block traffic or entry to shops. Painting of historic residences in the surrounding areas is also encouraged. At three o’clock, the group will then get together at Lefty’s Grill at 101 Broad St. where we can have an early dinner in a private room and hold a viewing/critique. Please RSVP to Warren Knox if you are interested in joining the group for dinner.
