Qualifications:
Open to current California Art Club members in one of the following juried artist categories: Signature Artist, Artist, Out-of-State Artist, and Mentorship Program Member.
Subject:
You are encouraged to explore Malibu through any genre you wish, including landscapes, seascapes, urban scenes, and figurative works. One of the most picturesque regions in the nation, Malibu’s topography ranges from the Santa Monica Mountains and canyons to the Pacific Ocean. In addition to the natural environment, Malibu offers an active and vibrant community of residents and visitors that fuel artistic creativity. From the famous surf culture to the varied wildlife, there is no shortage of inspiration!
Medium:
Paintings in oil, watercolor, pastel or acrylic
Sculptures
Submit 2D works up to a maximum of 72 inches tall or wide. Sculptures must be able to sit comfortably on a pedestal without a bonnet. The main gallery of the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art is an awe-inspiring space with a 26-foot high ceiling. We encourage artists to submit larger and more accomplished works that will better fit the impressive scale of the museum setting. To note, smaller studies done “on location” are also encouraged.
NOTE: Shipped works will not be able to be accommodated for this exhibition. All artwork must be hand-delivered to the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art.
Commission:
60% Artist; 20% CAC; 20% FRW
Works may be "NFS"
Submission Information:
Entry Fee: $65 for the first submission, and $15 for each following submission. There is no limitation on the number of works submitted. Entry fees are non-refundable.
