D. Eleinne Basa

D. Eleinne Basa, "Afternoon Light"

D. Eleinne Basa’s painting “Afternoon Light” was awarded First Place in the 1st Annual Plein Air Salon Online competition hosted by Plein Air Magazine. The Annual award winners were announced during the First Plein Air Convention in Las Vegas, this April 2012. Her painting “Afternoon Light” 10 x 12 , Oil , was a finalist in the July/August Bimonthly competition and automatically qualified, along with about 60 other bimonthly finalists for the annual competition. The prize came with a $15,000 cash award.

Drew Fagan


Drew Fagan, “Blue Collar Girl”

Drew Fagan will be having an exhibition at Thomas Reynolds Gallery in San Francisco from June 2-30, 2012 and will be featured in the May issue of American Art Collector magazine. An opening reception will be held on June 2 from 5-7 pm.

Rick Delanty


Rick Delanty, “Moss Point toward Victoria”

Rick J. Delanty was awarded first place by juror Stephen Doherty, editor of Plein Air Magazine, at the Richeson 75 International Small Works competition, for his acrylic painting, “Moss Point toward Victoria.” Awards were presented at Richeson’s Wisconsin gallery, among an exhibition of 75 paintings of less than 144 square inches. Exhibition closes March 30th.

Patti Cliffton


Patti Cliffton, “Sunflowers, Balboa”

Patti Cliffton’s painting, “Sunflowers, Balboa” was purchased by the Balboa Island Improvement Association for use on the poster and raffle for the Balboa Holiday home tour in December.

There will be an opening reception on Friday, December 9 from 7 – 9 p.m., and the exhibition will run from December 10, 2011 to Feb. 12, 2012.

Robin Purcell


Robin Purcell, “Flag Hill Sunol”

Robin Purcell’s watercolor painting “Flag Hill Sunol” has been juried into the Triton Museum of Art Statewide Painting Exhibition and Competition. The painting, painted en plein air at a CAC San Francisco Chapter Paintout, was one of 80 paintings selected from over 900 entries.

There will be an opening reception on Friday, December 9 from 7 – 9 p.m., and the exhibition will run from December 10, 2011 to Feb. 12, 2012.

Carolyn Hesse-Low


Carolyn Hesse-Low, “Zucchini Field”

Carolyn Hesse-Low received the Best of Show Award for her painting “Zucchini Field” at the San Luis Obispo Plein Air Festival 2011. Co-recipient of the award was Carolyn Lord.

Hesse-Low also received the Medal of Honor Award in Oils/Acrylics in Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club’s 115th Open Annual Juried Exhibition at the National Arts Club in New York City. It is the highest award given at this exhibition.

Rick Delanty


Rick Delanty, “Dana Head Sunset”

At the 13th Laguna Beach Plein Air Invitational, Rick Delanty was the recipient of the Edward H. Boseker award for painting excellence. Edward Boseker was a long-time trustee of the Laguna Art Museum.

Past recipients have been Michael Situ, Joan LaRue, and Bryan Mark Taylor.

Timothy Horn, “Girl on the Corner”

Timothy Horn‘s painting “Girl On The Corner” received the Artists Choice Award at the 2011 Napa Valley Art Festival in Yountville, CA.

Ray Hunter


Ray Hunter, “Beating the Storm”

Ray Hunter‘s painting “Beating the Storm” was accepted into the 15th National Exhibition of the American Society of Marine Artists. The Exhibition will be touring the United States over the next two years. It’s only California exhibition will be at the Haggin Museum in Stockton between December 20, 2012 and March 3,2013.
