2. Eligibility
An Eligible Participant in this Student Art Contest is a Pre-Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle School or High School student, age 3 to 19, who is a resident of one of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia during the Contest Period.
3. Contest Period
The Contest Period begins on February 18, 2021, at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time and ends on April 12, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
4. Entry into the Contest
Submissions require Internet access, as the submission form for the Student Art Contest is accessible through the California Art Club website (californiaartclub.org).
There is a limit of one (1) entry per Eligible Participant, which must depict an aspect of Mars and be an original work of art (drawing, painting, sculpture, or digital image) that does not infringe upon another entity’s copyright and does not contain offensive or inappropriate material.
Submissions must be received by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on Monday, April 12, 2021, and the submission form must be completed in its entirety and needs to be signed by the entrant’s parent or guardian, if the entrant is under the age of 18.
5. Selection of Winners
Submissions by Eligible Participants will be reviewed by a panel of jurors designated by the California Art Club, who will select three winners among High School category (first place –$100.00; second place – $50.00; and third place – $25.00); one winner for Middle School category (first place – $75.00); and one winner for students in the Pre-Kindergarten and Elementary School category (first place – $50.00).
6. Prizes
The gifts certificates for art supplies will be awarded to the five winners of the Student Art Contest, as noted in 5 above, and the winners are schedule to be announced on or about April 16, 2021, on californiaartclub.org.
7. Grant of Rights
Eligible Participants grant the California Art Club the rights to display and/or use images of their original artwork. This consent applies in all forms known now or in the future, in all media and in all manners, including, but not limited to, advertising, art, editorial, electronic and exhibition. Eligible Participants also release the California Art Club, their affiliates, respective directors, officers, agents, and employees from any and all claims of any kind on account of any such use.
8. Limitations of Liability and Release
No liability or responsibility is assumed by California Art Club or resulting from any Eligible Participant’s participation in or attempt to participate in the Art Contest. The California Art Club is not responsible for any typographical errors in any announcement related to this Student Art Contest or these Contest Rules. By participating in the Student Art Contest, Eligible Participants agree to release and hold the California Art Club harmless from any and all claims, damages, or liabilities arising from or relating to participation in the Contest.
9. Publicity Release
Participation in the Student Art Contest and/or acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for the California Art Club to use, without notice or further compensation, worldwide and in perpetuity, any Eligible Participant’s submission and related information for any purpose, including without limitation, advertising and promotional purposes as well as in, on or in connection with the website or the Contest or other promotions, and each Eligible Participant hereby releases the California Art Club from any liability with respect thereto.
10. General
By participating in the California Art Club’s Student Art Competition, Eligible Participants agree to these Contest Rules and the organization’s Privacy Policy. Winners must comply with any and all requirements and limitations associated with the use of any Prize. If for any reason the Student Art Contest is not capable of running as planned, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, modify, or suspend the event.
