Founded in 1909, the California Art Club is a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit organization built on the foundation of promoting and supporting contemporary-traditional fine art and the classical art skills involved with painting, sculpture and drawing. As one of the oldest, largest, and most active art organizations in the country, CAC is committed to keeping traditional arts alive and offers unique educational programs that continue to attract new generations of artists and art enthusiasts alike.

CAC believes that the intention of traditional fine artists is not to replicate what was done in the past, but rather to use knowledge of art history to look forward and build on a strong foundation of traditions and techniques that date back hundreds of years. By combining traditional techniques – pure drawing and the principles of space, composition, pattern and design – with new perspectives, artists are able to express contemporary themes that are unique to living in modern times, such as diminishing open space and the quality of life in our urban environments.
