From the exhibition pamphlet: “The California Art Club is a state-wide organization of water color, oil, pastel, and miniature painters, illustrators, and sculptors. It is the oldest club of its kind in California, having been founded in 1909 by some twenty painters and at the present time [1946] is an organization of some three hundred artists of whom a number are nationally and internationally known. The California Art Club holds continuous and changing exhibitions in cities and towns all over the state and is currently showing another group of works in the Los Angeles Greek Theater in Griffith Park.”
