Virtual Paint/Sculpt-Out along the Monterey and Carmel Coastline with Mark Farina

On February 20, 2021, we will “zoom” along Highway 1 to one of the most breathtaking segments of California’s famed coastline – Monterey and Carmel. With an extensive array of natural beauty, from towering cliffs and a rugged coast to beautiful beaches and colossal redwoods, there will be a wealth of inspiring imagery for creating new works of art.
Our guide for this virtual adventure is Mark Farina, one of the co-chairs of CAC’s Monterey Chapter, who has lived on the Monterey Peninsula since the early 1980s. Farina will share an exquisite selection of curated images that he has collected over the years.
This event will include a Zoom review session during which the artist will discuss a selection of works created during the paint/sculpt-out.
The program is open to all levels of CAC membership as well as non-members.

CAC Members: $30.00
Non-Members: $40.00
Detailed Schedule for the Virtual Paint/Sculpt-Out:
9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Time for painting and sculpting! Participating artists will be emailed a link to an event page on the CAC website, which will provide access to the images selected as inspiration for this virtual event. As works are completed, they may be submitted for possible consideration for the review session with the artists.
2:00 p.m. Deadline for submitting artwork for consideration for the review session. (A link to a form for submission will be provided.)
Approximately 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. The Zoom review session with the artist begins. During this session, Farina will provide brief comments and observations on a selection of approximately six to eight works. Due to time constraints, unfortunately, he will not be able to comment on all works submitted. The artist will use his best judgment to select examples for which he can provide comments that will be most beneficial for the group as a whole.
Works submitted for the review session will be posted on the CAC website, unless a participant wishes to opt-out.
