Brittany Ryan Master Artist Sculpture Workshop
Thursday, August 1 at 10:00 am - Friday, August 2 at 4:00 pm
Join us and take the opportunity to learn from CAC Signature Artist Brittany Ryan in a two{2} day sculpture workshop in the studios of Laguna College of Art and Design on August 1 & 2, 2024.
Learn from a sculpture master in this informative and intensive, on-site two{2} day sculpture workshop experience! Included will be demos, talks, instructional sessions as Brittany shares her techniques and processes in creating her wonderful figurative sculptures. Instruction will be from approximately 10:00 am to 4:00 pm each day
Workshop Description:
- Two day, 18” nude standing figure from a live model.
- Figure armature building
- Lecture on anatomy, finding gesture, sight sizing, and many other academic methods and techniques to achieve accurate sculptures.
- Instructor demonstrations
- hands on individual critiques
- Located a LCAD’s historic and beautiful main campus in Laguna Beach Canyon! The Festival of art, Sawdust festival and Pageant of the masters will all be happening at this time too and, here are shuttles that leave from the school to downtown for all of this stuff.

Cost: $450; ($375 Workshop Fee; $75 Lab/Materials Fee– Materials will be purchased and supplied to LCAD ahead of time)

Artist Biography:
Born in 1983 in San Diego, California, Brittany Ryan received her formal education at Laguna College of Art and Design. Graduating in 2005 with a BFA, majoring in Illustration and a minor in Sculpture and her MFA in drawing and painting in 2010.
Brittany currently lives and works in Southern California. She is involved in group shows with local museums, galleries and art associations. In 2021 Brittany was juried into the California Art club Gold Metal Show and won first place in sculpture at the Portrait Society International competition. In 2020 won the Gold Medal award at the National Sculpture Societies 87th Annual Awards show, as well as other commendations in previous years.
