ArtNight, one of Southern California’s most popular events focused on the arts, will be presented virtually this Spring. To be held Friday, April 16, from 6 to 10 p.m. Pacific Time, the evening will showcase a full schedule of engaging programming from 16 Pasadena-based organizations.

CAC’s ArtNight program will continue our journey into the cosmos as part of our celebration of the landing of the Mars Perseverance Rover and include:

• • An art talk with dynamos in the science fiction and fantasy art genres –  William Stout and Julie Bell – who will discuss their use of traditional fine art techniques to create other worldly imagery.
  • Painting demonstrations with CAC artists Christopher Cook, Jennifer Burgan and Christopher Burgan, who will create new works inspired by images of Mars.
  • Children’s “paint-along” and coloring activities, which allow budding artists to combine their interests in art and science.
  • The unveiling of the exhibition of exemplary submissions to the Student Art Contest, which complements our current virtual display Mars: An Artistic Mission.
