This lecture is open to artists at all levels who are interested in professional development. A. Mclean, the founder of McLean Fine Art, provides visual artist career coaching, distinctive local and national art exhibitions, art consultation services, and lectures extensively. She has provided workshops through MOCA, Los Angeles County Arts Commission, Santa Monica Museum of Art, Ventura County Arts Commission, Ryman Arts, and Pasadena City College, among many others.

This three-hour lecture provides straightforward advice for artists interested in obtaining exhibitions, building their resume, marketing and promoting their work, and finding gallery representation. Topics include:

-How do you know when you are ready to start showing your work?

-Where do you fit in and how do you get there?

-How do you approach galleries and art critics?

-How do you effectively market yourself?

-What are the do’s and don’ts in promoting your art?

Sacramento Chapter Paint/Sculpt-Out – Gray Lodge

The Sacramento County Chapter Chapter will host a paint/sculpt-out on Saturday, March 22, 2015.




Venue: Grays Lodge Wildlife Area




Eligibility: Open to all CAC members and their friends!




Event fee: Free




Details: Grays Lodge is known as a wildlife wonderland. The wetlands is surrounded by rich agricultural lands and is located along the Pacific Flyway. Come with the Sacramento Chapter and enjoy the reflective water, beautiful marsh flora, and the natural environment.




Sacramento Chapter Advisory Board member Kathleen Davis will be at Grays Lodge when it opens at 7:30 a.m. In the afternoon, there will be an informal show and tell of each other’s works.




Coffee will be available in the morning. Pack a lunch as it is a 20 minute drive to town. Kathleen will be lodging the night before and can be reached on her cell with any questions or concerns.




For those interested in lodging the night before, Gridley Inn and RV Park is only a 20 minute drive from the park and is aware that the CAC will be in the area. Other establishments nearby include Blackbear Diner, pizza and Mexican cuisine.

Associate Artist Committee Meeting: September

The goal of the Associate Artist Committee is to enhance the CAC Associate Artists’ experience and make them an integral part of the group as a whole, while also supporting all CAC activities.

The Associate Artist Committee meets at 10 a.m. on the second Tuesday of every month, unless otherwise noted. All current Associate Artist members of the CAC are welcome and encouraged to attend meetings!
