As our premier event, the 110th Annual Gold Medal Exhibition, comes to a close on August 14, I invite you to join us for the in-person Paint/Sculpt-Out in Old Towne Orange – the historic district in which the Hilbert Museum of California Art is located. CAC artists will be painting live models in period attire of the 1940s, with backdrops that include the 1938 Mission Revival Orange Train Station. There will also be a table set aside for children to create works of art of their own.
I would also like to remind you that there is only one more week of voting for the Art Lover’s Choice awards! One award will be given for each genre of work in the Gold Medal Exhibition, so be sure to cast your votes by August 8 so they count toward your favorite works of art.
Following the close of the Gold Medal Exhibition, the California Art Club will be a Gold Sponsor of the First Pastel Live. I will be presenting one of the instructional sessions, as well as a number of other CAC artists, including Mary Aslin, Terri Ford, Albert Handell, Kim Lordier and Aaron Schuerr. Pastel Live is guaranteed to be both fun and informative.
