Our first virtual Learn and Mingle Membership Meeting was a huge success! Fine Art Connoisseur editor-in-chief Peter Trippi, who served as the guest judge for our inaugural Excellence in Traditional Fine Art Competition, gave insightful remarks into the judging process for art competitions. Not only did he explain the process from the judge’s perspective, he also included helpful pointers for both budding and seasoned artists who are looking to do well in the upcoming quarterly competitions.
We were also treated to fascinating remarks from President Emeritus Peter Adams, who recounted a painting journey in 1987, when he traveled in disguise with the Mujahideen rebels in Afghanistan. His presentation was a little teaser for a panel discussion that will be presented during the Gold Medal Exhibition on daring adventures of artists to capture imagery rarely depicted in paintings.
If you were unable to join us for last Saturday’s Membership Meeting, mark your calendars now for the next one, scheduled for June 25. You won’t want to miss it, as we will provide a sneak peek at the 111th Annual Gold Medal Exhibition!
As we are busy preparing to unveil our signature event at the Bowers Museum in July, I hope you will consider becoming a Gold Medal sponsor. Every year, we strive to continually raise the bar for the exhibition, and it simply wouldn’t be possible without the continued generous support from all of you.
