"History"
"[The] California Art Club, founded in 1906 as the Painters' Club of Los Angeles with 23 members, is the oldest art club west of the Mississippi. Many famous artists have contributed to the success of [the] California Art Club.

Meetings are held monthly except July, August and Sept. at the Les Freres Taix Restaurant, 1911 Sunset Boulevard, L.A. Members are juried and Associate Members are welcome. Social hour begins at 11 a.m. with lunch at noon and an Art Demonstration presented at 1 p.m.

Gold Medal Exhibitions are held annually in February."
