EXHIBITION TITLE: Musical Motifs

EXHIBITION DATES: January 27 – May 30, 2017

LOCATION: Altadena Town & Country Club

QUALIFICATIONS: One must be an active Artist, Out-Of-State Artist, Associate Artist or Student Artist Member of the California Art Club to be eligible to apply for Musical Motifs.

SUBJECT:
We are looking for artwork that expresses the magic of music. Subject matter could include musical instruments, performing musicians, concert venues and various other scenes that bring music to the mind. The exhibition aims to showcase a variety of subjects and genres that celebrate the universal appeal of music.

MEDIUM: Oil, watercolor, pastel or acrylic.

COMMISSION: 60% Artist; 20% Altadena Town & Country Club; 20% CAC (All artwork MUST be for sale.)

DEADLINE: Monday, December 5, 2016

ENTRY FEE: Please pay by credit card through Online Juried Shows. The first image you submit is $35, and each additional image is $10. Click here to apply!

NOTIFICATIONS: Notifications will be sent to artists via email on or about December 16th.

ARTWORK DROP-OFF: Wednesday, January 25, 2017; 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. noon at Altadena Town & Country Club

SHIPPING INFORMATION: Out-of-town shipments MUST arrive by Friday, January 20, 2017.

Artists will be responsible for the cost of crating, handling, and shipping artwork to and from the exhibition via Box & Ship in Pasadena, CA. Box & Ship will charge a $40.00 handling fee. Please DO NOT ship paintings to the Altadena Town & Country Club. Further shipping information will be provided upon acceptance.

ARTISTS’ RECEPTION: Sunday, January 29, 2017; 3 – 5 p.m.

ARTWORK PICK-UP: Wednesday, May 31, 2017; 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

EXHIBITION TITLE: Lights, Camera, California: Starring Roles for Scenic Sites

EXHIBITION DATES: January 10 – May 10, 2017

LOCATION: Old Mill
1120 Old Mill Road, San Marino, CA 91108

SUBJECT: As home to Hollywood and the entertainment industry, California has cultivated one of the most impressive filmographies of starring roles in motion pictures and televisions shows. The year-round sunshine and natural beauty that attracted early California Art Club artists to paint throughout the Golden State also have enticed filmmakers with ideal settings and scenic backdrops for their projects. With Lights, Camera, California: Starring Roles for Scenic Sites we will explore both famous and not-so-famous sites that have made cameo appearances in film and television.

MEDIUM: Only original paintings in oil, watercolor, pastel or acrylic will be accepted.

There is no limit to the number of pieces you can submit to the exhibition. There are no entry fees for this exhibition.

NOTIFICATIONS: Artists will be notified via email on or about December 16th.

ARTWORK DROP-OFF: Monday, January 9, 2017; 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

PREPARING PAINTINGS: All paintings must be wired for hanging. Please label the back of paintings and the underside of sculpture with your name, title of the artwork, medium, dimensions and price.

SHIPPING INFORMATION: Must arrive before Friday, January 6, 2017.
