EXHIBITION TITLE: Signs of Spring: A Day in the Garden

EXHIBITION DATES: January  16 – May 20, 2018

QUALIFICATIONS: Open to active Artists, Out-of-State Artists, Mentor Program or Signature Artist Members of the California Art Club.

SUBJECT: We are looking for artwork that showcases the incredible beauty that always welcomes us each Spring. Paintings may explore a variety of settings in full bloom, from intimate personal gardens to scenic public parks and wildflowers that line the mountain trails.

MEDIUM: Oil, watercolor, pastel or acrylic

COMMISSION: 60% Artist; 20% Old Mill; 20% CAC

All artwork MUST be for sale.

DEADLINE: Sunday, December 10, 2017

SUBMISSION INFORMATION: Upload artwork through Online Juried Shows to submit artwork for Signs of Spring: A Day in the Garden.

The is no limit to the number of pieces you can submit to the exhibition. There are no entry fees for this exhibition.

NOTIFICATIONS: Artists will be notified via email on or around  Wednesday, December 13, 2017.

ARTWORK DROP-OFF: Monday, January 15, 2018; 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

*If artists cannot drop-off accepted artwork in person during the designated date and time, artwork must be shipped.

OUT-OF-TOWN SHIPPING: Must arrive before Friday, January 12, 2018.

Artists will be responsible for the cost of crating, handling, and shipping artwork to and from the exhibition via Box & Ship in Pasadena, CA. Box & Ship will charge a $40.00 handling fee. Further shipping information will be provided upon acceptance.

ARTISTS’ RECEPTION: Thursday, January 18, 2018; 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

ARTWORK PICK-UP: Monday, May 21, 2018; 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

San Francisco Chapter of the CAC at Peninsula Museum of Art

EXHIBITION TITLE: Art Between the Lines: An Exhibition by the San Francisco Chapter of the CAC

EXHIBITION DATES: April 29 – July 8, 2018

QUALIFICATIONS: Open to the San Francisco Chapter of the CAC, including Associate Artists, Mentor Program Artist Members, Artists, and Signature Artists.

SUBJECT: The exhibition is UN-themed! We are looking for great works from our artists in the San Francisco Chapter of the California Art Club. Please submit work that best represents your style, whereas, subject matter may range from landscapes and still lives to figurative and sculptural work.

MEDIUM: Oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, or sculptural work.

COMMISSION: 60% Artist; 20% PMA; 20% CAC

All artwork MUST be for sale.

DEADLINE: Thursday, February 1, 2018 before 11:59 p.m.

There is a limit of 3 entries you can submit to the exhibition. Please pay by credit card through Online Juried Shows. The first image you submit is $35, and each additional image is $10.

NOTIFICATIONS: Artists will be notified via email on or around Tuesday, February 20, 2018.

On Location in Malibu 2018

EXHIBITION TITLE: On Location in Malibu 2018: Paintings by the California Art Club

EXHIBITION DATES: May 19 – July 29, 2018

EXHIBITION DESCRIPTION: We are pleased to announce that the California Art Club and the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art are partnering to organizing the exhibition On Location in Malibu 2018, which will be the seventh in a series which has been held every three years since 1999. On Location in Malibu 2018 is a juried exhibition curated by Dr. Michael Zakian, Director, Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art.

ELIGIBLE TO APPLY: Open to current California Art Club members in one of the following categories: Signature Artist, Artist, Out-of-State Artist, and Mentor Program Member.

SUBJECT: You are encouraged to explore and depict Malibu as you wish, using any subject, including landscapes, seascapes, urban scenes and local people. Malibu is one of the most picturesque regions in the nation, featuring topography that ranges from the Santa Monica Mountains and canyons to the Pacific Ocean and the beach. In addition to the natural environment, Malibu offers an active, vibrant community of residents and visitors that fuel artistic creativity. We are sure you will find many subjects that will inspire you!

MEDIUM: Paintings in oil, watercolor, pastel or acrylic

Submit works up to a maximum of 72 inches tall or wide. The main gallery of the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art is a majestic space with a 24-foot high ceiling. We encourage artists to submit larger, accomplished works that will better fit the impressive scale of the museum setting. Of course, smaller studies done “on location” are also encouraged.

COMMISSION: 60% Artist; 20% Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art; 20% CAC [Works may be “NFS” – Not for Sale]

DEADLINE: Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 11:59pm
